I know... it's such an iconic monument full of history... so many years burning in minutes

[bulletproof]

What caused it?

it seems it has something to do with the reparations

[Myco]

Do we know already how it happened?

It really is tragic :/ Monuments like this really should stay as long as possible

[Marianthi]

It is so sad seeing a monument that has withstood over 800 years almost being completely destroyed in 4 hours. Such a sad day for history today....

I just saw this on the news. They even showed a video where part of the cathedral fell down. Apparently there's over 400 firefighters trying to put it out as well. It's amazing how this cathedral lasted through so many centures and through many wars. It's just sad to hear how quickly it's getting taken down. I hope those who are in Paris will be okay.

This is honestly so sad. I always wanted to visit it :(
I hope no one is injured

[QueenB]

yeah when I first got the notification about it I thought the police had it under control but then I went onto twitter and saw the pictures. Its really horrible something so old lasted so long to be destroyed now

[amourpinks]

I hope they can get it fixed or try to make some of it last :/ it would be horrible if all of it burned.

[mysteric]

..wow
To think that I visited nearly a year ago from today

[Tir]

Thankfully, the main structure has been saved and preserved from total destruction
