One Of The Greatest Game Trailers Of All Time
Halo.
An iconic franchise that defined a generation of gaming.
Epic. Action packed. Thoughtful. And Moving.
It features one of my favorite stories in gaming.
Encapsulated best by one of my favorite lead characters of all time, Master Chief (John).
The dynamic between he and Cortana serving as one of my favorite character relationships in any medium I've ever experienced.
As a game, Halo excels in tone and cinematic experience.
The music, perhaps central to Halo's appeal, was instrumental in elevating Halo above mere standard "sci-fi shooter".
The choral chants and emotional themes brought Halo a sense of scale and importance, as well as emotional delivery, rarely found in shooters.
My favorite trailer and one of the best I've seen in gaming.
It's slow build from contemplative anticipation that shifts at sound of those beautiful piano keys that mark midway, all culminating to an end where the brass rises to epic fruition.
"Finish the fight"
It still brings me goosebumps and teared eyes to this day.
Watch. And remember.
