Byunchan, Hanse, and Subin have officially left when their contracts ended. They were the first ones to leave (minus Chan who left because of DUI).

Seungwoo is now signed with AURA Entertainment as of 2024. Seungsik left IST in 2024 as well and has not signed with a new company. And finally SeJun is with Way Better and will be having a solo debut.

I guess they’re done for, and no need to hold onto the shred of hope I had

I'm hopeful for them because their company obviously has money with some of the people signed to them.

But it does seem to be like, wtf is going on. Be'O's last release was April 2024, BadVillain's was June 2024, Sungwoon's was July, Taemin's was August, Mujin's was October, Viviz was November, and then the company holiday release in December. Last year and in prior years, they had steady releases throughout the year, and nothing so far this year, not even a teaser. It's weird.

it's always a bad sign when comebacks start to be delayed, hopefully it's only temporary.. especially as it affects so many artists

idk they come from a small company so anything could happen

Look I understand that you as a weekly fan must feel hard done by IST but realistically (with all due respect) how were weekly sales and charting and YT/spotify numbers like?
Could they have survived or was it a case well nothing IST could do would have made a difference

It all stemmed from Jiyoon's handling.

as always you cant kill the most popular member with out spill over.

the numbers were not horrid considering dreamnote is still around and they have like 2k sales.

but the time lag is not good.

Also its very hard to over state how really important it is to keep all members in each comeback, especially for less established groups without large active fan bases.

boys play in that area with military but by then those groups are established.

It seems most pay a price then or down the road.

Their sales started to drop and then fell down a cliff.. 83k -> 72k -> 28k

As always there are probably many factors, but I don't have the impression IST did a good job with them after the succesfull start and people started to lose interest in the group

i always find it interesting to compare Weeekly and StayC's arcs
StayC had a better start and far more consistency in sound and style. and as you can see teh people like old StayC style far more.

yea its massive, a 4x drop is harsh and not the way ya want to go.

Again its tied to an almost year long zero cb time frame in the first 3 years.

There is a reason Twice and SNSD had 2 - 4 cb a year for so long. Even then SNSD had a huge break between kissing you and Gee. Gee being the song of the decade saved em so the 2009 groups didnt run em over.
gfreind had a bunch (SinB's injury did cause some lag, but they did not drop a song with out her) Tempo is really important in kpop since they cant live off of one album for years like in the west.

I don't know, I always thought the smaller labels can't afford to do the comeback schedules you are talkinga bout now.. but yeah most groups that are active seem to do comebacks in 6-8 month cycles

6 months is important Source had just gfriend and did 3 for that first year. jan july jan july Sinb got hurt so they waited until march but went in aug and sept.. if ya cant fund the first 3 cb an agency shouldn't even try.

StayC really had no excuse back to back ~400k albums then crickets... not smart. Especially when the top groups are doing 1-2 million. new Jeans imploded and they could have easily captured some of those fans, but digital only song with a style change. Ive for example dropped Mine and Switch and then Empathy before this last album. Ssera Easy Crazy and Hot not to mention perfect night and Smart
