Honestly the system we use to get into uni the ATAR (different from the HSC but heavily linked) is pretty terrible. I always thought it was a score, it's a rank. And different subjects rank differently, like if you do well in physics you'll get more points compared to someone who does well in PDHPE which I always found fucked. I don't care if one's more scientific, I've heard PDHPE is heavy on it's content, give those students a break man. And the atar is based on the perfect student. Like wtf is a perfect student????? It's a shit system, but it's the system we have to get into uni :DD I'm honestly just planning on going to a college first then going to uni I don't wanna deal with this shit anymore.

Thank you for your words, it's honestly helping me. Just knowing (or thinking) when I go to teritary shit it'll be less stressful, I'm looking forward to it. But I got 3-4 more months of this stress unfortunately. I'll still get through it. Thank you babes <<3

Yeah a lot of students do STEM subjects or other high ranking subjects (economics for example) to get a high atar but with many of these students they're doing subjects they don't like. My best friend is doing bio for no reason and I have a friend and her parents made her do all three science subjects (bio, chem, physics), all of them are fucking hard. Many students just deal with it, espeically the one aiming for scores (or ranks I guess), but there's a divide of students dealing with it and ones who are over it, atar or not (you dont have to get an atar to complete school). There's also a huge divide with public and private schools here. Not just in Sydney but all of Australia. Like private schools get government funded. WHY!?!?!? So obviously their schools do fucking better. Also, the atar is a school rank btw, but if a school does well as a cohort the students who do shit can get extra points. So like private school students always get high fucking marks whilst us public schools shitlings are left to suffer!!! I'm lucky though since I go to a pretty good public school (but imma be honest this school is still a shithole).

I kinda want to, start a riot. People have talked about it but we seriously need to find a different system. I hate it :DD

i think we have a similar (but still different) method with "college credits" you can take but it would just be classes you can take to get a headstart by taking college credit classes while in high school so u dont have to take them in college. i tried that ONCE for AP english and never again bc im too dumb for that school is way too competitive than it has any right to be, let them kids live 😭

private schools here too also get more benefits whilst public schools get left in the dust, if you start a riot, i support it. go off!! show em!! rework the education system!!
