Groups I've never heard of have been "paving the way" for decades.

I think it's safe to say that most groups have introduced new fans with some having been more successful at it than others, no doubt Katseye have introduced new fans as well but to say they've paved the way for anything is hyperbole at it's finest. I've seen many people debate whether they're even K-Pop (I don't listen to them myself).

"Paving the way" is a spectrum where there's always another group who laid the foundation for what the current ones have managed to accomplish stretching all the way back to before K-Pop and what inspired it, so who do you credit for paving the way? I do believe there's groups that deserve credit for taking huge strides that shook the industry but Katseye isn't one of them.

Half the terminology we use today has lost it's meaning due to misuse.

It might seem like a weird thing to fixate on but today is apparently "Yuni's" (from Owis) birthday and of course I know it's not the person behind the characters birthday so it just seems weird for me to congratulate them. I don't have a problem with them using virtual avatars considering all the girls have a history and are of varying age and I even think that it might be a smart move but I don't see why details like birthday or MBTI needs to be different from the actual persons when all it does is cause confusion about what is real and not.

These girls are experienced and don't need fake personas to go with the models and I'd wager most fans (like myself) knew them before and are following Owis to keep up with the real people anyway. It's not a big secret who they are.

It just kind of spoiled the whole thing for me not knowing if I'm listening to a person or a character that they play. To be fair it does seem like they're doing their own thing and showing their real personalities but that just makes it even more confusing with all the fake details. It should have just been virtual avatars and fake names with everything else being genuine, puts less strain on them and us.

i completely agree with this !!! i really with people would stop saying new groups paved the way for kpop itself; maybe for a specific generation, but katseye isnt even kpop anyways. :(
