Middle easterns are Caucasian??

I never really lived in a western country yet to know, but from my relatives or friends I heard that socially everyone treats Middle Eastern people as people of color but while filling out forms and stuff sometimes they check white/Caucasian.


Under the U.S. Census definition and U.S. federal agency, individuals with ancestry from North Africa are considered white. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regulations also explicitly define white as "original peoples of Europe, North Africa, or the Middle East." Source

Yeah but I've honestly never used the term in my life...
Its honestly weird when a person is using the sentence 'as a poc or person of colour' in a real life conversation.. Especially if you clearly are or/and the majority of people you're talking with are too...
Its really... Pointless to state sometimes.
