...and considering the fact that this renewal took place "a while back", its puzzling, to say the least. I mean, anytime a member begins to act on the side (Yeri), its self-explanatory I think. Something's bound to happen soon. We'll see ig, i'm not implying anything! ;)

I know I don't expect all of RV to renew with SM it's historically not precedented
it then begs the question of why are they discussing it now when it (the renewal) wasn't recent...

Probably as I'd imagine if this is old news then they were holding out on the belief that they'd get all 5 to resign and just thought they'd announce it together but announcing Seulgi on her own can only be an act of desperation trying to twist the other 4 members arms into sticking with SM otherwise there was zero reason to hold off.

Yeah if i remember correctly SM wants new contracts signed at the beginning of the calendar year regardless of when it is up during the year.
And this is way off sequence for Red Velvet whos contracts are up in what would typically be 2021 and 2024.

Maybe they signed contracts at the start of the year in 2021 and the contracts are coming up in January now instead so they've been trying to sign them to new ones that'd cover 2024 to 2026 before doing anything with them.
