Well of they are gonna release new music as the full group wouldn't this be like the actual first time something of this kind would happen?

Like f(x) or GOT7 said they will always stay together and possibly release music as the group in the future and so on, which seemed to have been only talk no action for the most part with other disbanded groups as well

I think Jackson said that they want to focus on establishing their individual career first (since some of them are preparing to release their solos) so they won't be coming back as a group this year. So if they really mean that will still stay as a group and release music, they will probably do it in 2-3 years or so.

Beg never went on official hiatuses either much less so disbandment and all their companies are very friendly towards it (some were in the same and it's part of their contracts) and still come back relatively often (every 2 or 3 years at most) but T-ara hasn't reunited for an actual comeback since they left mbk and they had the whole drama with the trademark. If you mean the thing from last year it was just a special performance after all and a very select few of them, and i think they all share management companies in China or smth. So they're still technically not exceptions i wouldn't say.
i think if anything ss501 was the closest but without 2 members, becoming ss301, so not quite

As resentment from SM/ot8 stans might give them backlash if they werent sincere.

Edit: i suspected tangential reasons scotched a potential 2019.08.05 reunion maybe a anniversarybsingle like Sailing but its only a feeling.

i remember the word indefinite hiatus thrown around in the articles a lot when the news came out, i just checked on wikipedia since i hesitated for a sec LOL but it's sourced too ig tho i didn't check the sources but yeah at least from the news atm people used that wording.

Nobody from SM or ot8 used tat wording from my memory tho. I wasnt SNSD stan in 2017, read my blog in my about/profile page-so i wasnt as devastated as i could hv been then. It was just we're all waiting for a chance to get together while we go off n do solo stuff-same as in 2012, maybe? Unless you count when tts debut as ot9 hiatus? I dont. I don't count the tts years as hiatuses no, specially because in those years they promoted a hell of a ton in japan. Idk, at least the ones that reported it overseas (namely sites that aren't allowed to be mentioned here lmaooo) did mention the official hiatus. But i know they're not fully reliable so yeah it's honestly kinda eh lol. Plus they didn't make very explanative announcements/statements of their own in regards to the events or anything so it makes it blurrier. But they have been showing hints of coming back together soon for music for a few years so hopefully that works.
