I didn't like the vocal processing, especially the stuttering effect they put on the "chorus"

The ones I really liked were:
Tzuyu, Chaeyeoung, Jihyo, Dahyun, Jeongyeon.
In roughly that order

I think I liked Mina's as well.
The rest were....

Look, I'm gonna say it. I thought the Nayeon was horrible. The production on it sounds totally amateurish.

I was going to wait for the full album, but if everyone's ranking them...
1. Tzuyu - Not bad. I don't really like Tzuyu's belting as much as the other members; she still seems to struggle with not getting screechy imo. The verses are nice though.
2. Chaeyoung - Not bad. I like the idea of it, but she gets a bit too cute at times? IDK, I thought she was putting on a baby voice at times, and it went from "higher pitched than we normally hear" to an affectation I didn't much care for.
3. Dahyun - Love this, no notes.
4. Mina - I'm with Horizon, that processing on the chorus makes the song unlistenable. The verses were fine.
5. Jihyo - Selfie is wrong, this is nice.
6. Sana - It's okay. Sana did well, but the lyrics themselves are not my vibe.
7. Momo - I like it, it suits her.
8. Jeongyeon - Unexpected! I like it, though. It's nice to hear her doing something that suits her so well.
9. Nayeon - It's fun. I think I like it?

Dahyun will definitely get added to my playlist. Momo, Jihyo, Jeongyeon, and Nayeon might depending on how the full song sounds.

That's fair. I really disliked Mina's so I wonder if I'll feel differently about Jihyo's when I'm specifically picking it out to listen to with my other faves.

It's fun seeing them all try something on their own! I always think it's interesting when groups do that, because my favorite songs often aren't from the member I would have necessarily guessed.

I go into blind without any expectations since who knows what the member decides or how different they are from the group songs because a lot of times by the time an idol gets to release solo music they've been in the industry a while and "survived" (aka profited for the company) to be given the freedom to release individual music and their personal preferences are usually something different from the rest of the group/other members

And there are people who end up, for example, liking heavy vocal processing despite being good singers or getting into singing despite being presented as a rapper or rapping when they always sang. Or the different genres that they get into. I remember reading a review once of Henry Lau's solo music (formerly of Super Junior), and the reviewer being like "even though he can release anything, he picks bubblegum pop?" as if that's not a genre someone could genuinely like lol.

Like I don't know that I would have pegged Dahyun as my favorite of all their solos, but dang, she's got an ear for good music. I'd definitely be interested in seeing what she does next.

for dahyun specifically she's written a lot as well (for twice) and I always knew she would release great music since she's very talented

she's also into acting and plays the piano (I'm a sucker for the piano even though I can't play it my wife certainly does lol) and is great at variety and emceeing and when did this turn into a dahyun appreciation thread? lol
