industry norm, but some don't repost so I doubt it's actually enforced (but usually it's those who aren't active on socmed either way like lyj)
basically every cidol who has weibo will repost one of them sooner or later, either you go into expecting it or you don't stan them at all, that's how I see it, same goes for chinese kpop idols like renjun or chenle etc
for me personally, it's when they keep posting it outside weibo (not just the 2008 earthquake, and other similar memorial day posts) that I stop supporting

this year alone we've had ex gg member with a manslaughter allegation, a horrible mom exploiting legal loopholes, surprise I have a kid I didn't know I had for two years, criminal drug and prostitution dealing family, lol this kid failed his college entrance exams, rapper turned raper, imperialism supporter

honestly think it’s because the whole celebrity culture and fandom culture is new to china so it literally grew with the country’s social media giants which makes a lot of fallouts a lot uglier
