Sensitive Should I report my teacher? (1 Viewer)

I put sensitive due to the mentions of mental health, and examples of she way she talks to students (mostly 9th graders in American school btw which is like 14-15 years old)
My teacher is constantly talking down to students saying things like "You all disgust me" "You will never succeed in life" and scoffs at students. She's so angry all the time and trauma dumped on my sister about how she's going through a hard time and told my sister that her problems weren't that big because she is going through a divorce and it's "so hard for her". My sister was crying and having a mental breakdown. She scoffed at me and went off at me because I opened the wrong assignment. It's literally not that deep I wasn't sitting there doing nothing, I was putting work into that assignment. She marked me absent because I went to the nurse. She rolled her eyes at me and said I could go. I was in so much pain because my period started and my face was quite pale, I was literally holding on to my stomach and she just sighed, rolled her eyes, and marked me absent for the day?? It was only like 5 minutes that I was gone 😐😐😐 She complains about students going to the bathroom, complains about students not caring even though she actively discourages students from caring about their work, and never puts in grades on time. She takes points off of students she doesn't like and give extra leeway to students that put up with her bullshit. I recently stopped pretending to care about her bullshit and she has been making rude comments targeted towards me to the entire class and is always walking by students she doesn't like and talking down to them. I really want to move out of her class. She over complicates work. I have two English classes, her class (English 1 for credits I missed in 9th grade and English 3 (higher level) for this year's credits. My English 3 is much easier and much less mentally draining. My English 3 teacher is nice and makes the work easy to understand and do. This teacher over complicates work that doesn't need to be any harder. I am doing the same assignment in both classes and I got the one from my English 3 done in like 10 minutes. In this class I can't even finish because she wants me to do all this extra shit for no reason other than wanting to give out more zeros to students. I sometimes feel like she enjoys projecting her insecurities and self doubts onto students because that's exactly what she does.

Exactly, she was about to start yelling at me just to find out I already did the assignment in my other class. She went straight to getting angry instead of asking relevant questions. Then she tried to be like "Class, I am genuinely worried for you. How can you succeed in life if you can't even do this assignment?" It's so manipulative and gross

Strike 1: You're already failing as an educator if this is the way you're approaching your students, whether it be once or multiple times.

Strike 2: Children aren't your therapist. Many, if not all, teachers seemed to have lost all sense of personal boundaries. Students neither need to know the minutiae of a teacher's life nor should they be burdened with their issues. They are not the proper outlet for that.

She doesn't care about students, be it their welfare or their education.

She needs to seek professional help for her own well-being and, in the meantime, needs to find a job in which she is not an authority over young people. She is not a good fit to be a teacher as you've described her. She needs to find another occupation.

Her struggles shouldn't become a stumbling block for her students. That's messed up.
