A few weeks ago, builders put scaffolding on mine (and a lot of other houses) ready to put on outdoor insulation. In my house’s case, the roof tiles are also being replaced. The roof is also essentially where my bedroom is.

They’re currently on my roof taking the tiles off, and in the process, admiring my Kpop album collection (complete with a little area for where I keep my Harry Potter books)

I hope they’re enjoying looking at my incredible taste in music whilst working hard.

We just went out with ice lollies for them because it’s really hot today, so they’re on a break.

It’s currently 27C here (going up to 29 later) and it’s going to be hotter tomorrow and Friday. Usually my British brain would offer them tea/coffee, but today isn’t really for that.

That’s really nice of you! Yeah it’s very important to stay cool and hydrated. It’s very hot here too. 28 C. And it will go up to 31C this week. And whose vacation just ended is working again full time… it’s me

ugg i dont pay that much a year for all the utilities of my house, and i am getting new fans and insulation this year to make it better.

Yeah the UK household bills are going up 215% between this year and next. The kicker though is that Boris refuses to do anything about it as he’s already resigned, and neither of the two PM candidates are planning on doing much to help, and aren’t due to take office until after the price hikes are announced/put into effect.

Hopefully the new fans and insulation will help you out!

i just do not understand the mentality that jacking up energy prices will
a help the planet
b not disproportionally impact the least well off.
c the trivial amount of global change will be totally gobbled up by just India and china

ill believe the nuts are serious when they start building nuke plants like crazy, until then its all smoke and mirrors.

during the summer my ele bill is big but i have natural gas for water and heating and trash gas ele ect come on the same bill.

Yeah and gas companies at the same time are announcing profits in the billions. People on TV are talking about solar power and using panels, but they cost thousands, which people don’t have in order to pay for them, or live in social housing so wouldn’t be able to get them anyway. There are those who are obviously capable of paying the prices, but a lot of them are oblivious to the fact the vast majority of us can’t.
