the nation's girl group are about to approach their 20th anniversary in 2027 and they're planning a tour 🎉 i'm so proud of the snsd for their contributions to the kpop scene and for being role models for many idols that followed after. however, i can't help but to think a tour is just the bare minimum. now don't get me wrong, a tour is a good way to have a two decade run in the industry, but snsd are genuine kpop legends, all of the members have made just as many contributions to the idol industry as they have as a group and i think they deserve a full length movie to go alongside the tour. Snsd is a 2nd gen group and i consider the 1st and 2nd generations to lay the groundwork for the future kpop groups we have now. i know sm will never do something like this but it'll be so cool to see an actual full length snsd movie documenting their predebut life as trainees in sm filled with never before seen footage of this in sm's archive of the girls training their asses off, trainees that trained with the girls but never got a chance to debut and unfortunately got dropped, and seeing them announce the final lineup of the legendary name: Girls Generation and possibly seeing the girls hug each other as they are finally getting a chance to debut. Of course the movie would document their early years as a group such as their debut, the legendary black ocean and the rest of how these 9 girls absolutely defined the kpop industry. it's just an idea i had. this is a little off topic but i thought about something...When Boa officially left sm ent, she was given a short goodbye video and nothing else. it felt like such a slap in the face and while the video itself was sad, trust me, i nearly cried while watching it but i wanted to hold my tears back...it was the bare minimum for a girl who carried sm on her back and literally saved the company from bankruptcy, she also deserved a full length movie to commemorate her contributions to sm and kpop as a whole. Boa is literally everyone's idol, she's YOUR idol's idol and she deserved everything like a tribute concert performing with juniors who were inspired by her and a grand, full length album. fuck you sm.
it'll also be good in the movie we get exclusive never before seen footage of the girls in discussion with jessica moments before she gets removed the group. it'll break all of those conspiracy theories and speculations on what actually happened and how the girls handled the situation, it wouldn't paint them as the villains, it would paint them as genuine humans with feelings and how they felt about jessica endeavors at the time. i know the snsd members care for each other and i don't think hate each other, but they were definitely forced to compete with each other and it's obvious that some of the members felt jealousy towards one another, it's a human emotion. you already know sm has a video like this in their archive somewhere, i know they'll never show it...but it's so obvious that'll be the biggest thing to ever come out of k-pop's history.
the movie should document everything from the beginning, middle and well not really end of their careers but to the present day. this is such a great idea and if we DO get an snsd movie, i'm genuinely hoping it's not going to be some behind the scenes of a tour put together as an "documentary" because that's not what an documentary even is. Both snsd and Boa deserve full length documentaries played in movie theaters to show kpop fans how these girls shaped the kpop music industry. i kind of got off topic while also discussing boa too, but both acts deserve them
