First, we would like to sincerely thank My Day [DAY6’s fandom name], who have always cherished and thought of DAY6.
Because the fans had waited a long time for a full group album from DAY6, the members were able to do their best and complete production on this new album.
It would have been best if all the DAY6 members could have met My Day through group promotions, but as you know, leader Sungjin is unable to participate due to his enlistment in the military. As a result, there are several unavoidable difficulties associated with group activities for this album.
We regret to share such unfortunate news with My Day, but we felt that it would be more meaningful to show DAY6 as a full group. After long and in-depth discussions with the members, it was decided that the members would be taking a break from group activities for this album.
The agency will continue to actively support DAY6 as a group, as well as the members who work hard at their individual activities. We will emphasize care of our artists so that the members can show a good side of themselves to My Day.
Once again, we ask for the understanding of My Day who have been waiting for DAY6’s activities.

JYPE didn't even make any send off post or official announcement of Sungjin's enlistment, he literally randomly said it in a vlive.

If this doesn't sound like disbandment to you idk what will. They are basically saying "We don't want to put any more effort into group activities because we will most likely talk about contract expiration soon and if they wanna resign but we're 99% sure they won't."
I do want them to disband because they are so restricted under JYP, but hopefully they'll stay together under a different name then possibly once they all left.

but on a serious note, I do agree with you. they are wonderful as solo artists just as well as a group.
I´d say Jae and Young K stand out the most due to their wonderful vocals but since now on, I´ll pay more attention to other members too.
Day6 and their relationship with JYP has always been really hard to grasp for me, but seeing how Jae had to restrict himself from twitch and doing stuff he likes, this is probably the best route. we can only hope for collabs and support. ♥♥♥

I´m definitely looking forward to seeing their work!

Yeah I feel like even as soloists at least 4 of them could do well, they never really were given any opportunity by JYP for that besides maybe Jae with eaJ but thats all, i dont remember JYPE ever pushing Wonpil, Sungjin & YoungK, and even Jae as eaJ and other stuff had to follow so many guidelines

It's the 2nd time tho, Zombie before Even of Day, wasn't promoted at all too and now this, sure I can respect the reasons for mental health and trying to get/feel better. They had Even of Day subunit that promoted at least but we haven't had OT5 content in such a god damn long time, and that JYPE didnt say anything about Sungjin's enlistment too just feels like a gut punch kind of q.q

Jae has been collabing with rnb artists and said that he wants to get into doing rnb and hip hop more. Jay has also complimented his solo project and signed JB after he left JYP. So I wouldn't even be surprised if he or whole band got signed
