stawp it with the questions and gimme the money! I'll make you retire before your 50s! :rosedance: You can even have 3 more kids and a nanny if you want! :thumbsupcat: Imagine spending your weekends on KS? How awesome would that be! :oliviakek:
hell no!!! 2 is more than enough

I actually enjoy spending time with my KidS on the weekends - I know shocking right?

other than that well hell you've convinced me - just make sure you get the follow statement notarized in Egnlish, Chinese and Korean

"I, Nyaz, promise on the threat of never being able to drink any alcohol again - never to go MHJ on selfmate"

I knew you couldn't be trusted!!!
also today I learned something else about you my friend

nyaz's predilection for alcohol (vodka in particular) exceeds her affection for (some members of) momoland
Not JooE :jihono: Hell no! I'd drink water and eat lemons 6-months straight for her! You were sadly misled oppa!

btw what is your fav JooE doing now? is she an actress? influencer? YT star? musician?
she got paid to dress up as a clown in a couple of survivals, took the money and traveled with it. She's on YT having a good time with her gurlies and her nail shop. She'll probably do variety shows in the future. Idol life is very over for her.

Seems like I can save almost 500k by finding naturally pretty idols like Sullyoon and running the operation from my basement. :llama_ramen:

And maybe feeding them air to keep them fit and pretty however this might drive up my legal fees
now that's....what I call Creativity! :kokorohappy: that should get you something like Rocket Punch or close to it! lmaooo
we should rather give him a rocket punch if he says stuff like that :joshmeh:

If these numbers are anywhere near ball park.
you can see why the debt ratio is bat shit crazy. and very very few make money.
ie everglow still has not.

Very very few ppl debut a group in a year.
Akkarat with the rebooting of 50/50 is the closest i remember.
your gonna have to amortize Keena out and some of the other may have been trainees already.

Sm claimed they were into each member of SNSD for millions of US dollars i think 3- 6 i would have to look it up. and that was 20 years ago.
Considering that 6 were basically 6-7 year trainees, Tae and Tiff were 3 and Sunny 1 but she trained for 5 at least somewhere else.
And they burned thru at least 8 other long term trainees. (ie Soyeon, Chanmi and several other high profile girls. )

RV had a 7 year trainee 2 5's and 2 2's and they burned thru so many other girls.

and we dont even want to go thru what sm churned thru to make Aespa. Aespa had to be on the books for 30-40 million at least.
For Fifty Fifty, Yewon and Chanelle Moon were trainees from HYBE (and also at other places before). The other 2 never had any idol training before

The numbers you are saying are a bit crazy though, I can't see any agency getting millions into debt for single trainee. In the end you just need to house, feed and train them. None of that will cause costs in the millions, not even over a timespan of several years. I also don't see why the Aespa girls should have been so much more expensive

The agencies are fundamentally a private school that covers everything Idol like. The overhead for each trainee has to be assigned to the group that does finally debut. ie if they went thru 40-50 girls before getting to Aespa the cost of each girls time will get assigned to that line. This is because the huge agencies pay for it all up front.

The up side in smaller agencies the final team may only have to carry the debt of the kids who actually debut.

this is top-tier stuff however. we're talking mid-range here. But yeah, I could understand the massive investment for a true global group like SNSD.

ok if you put it like that, I can understand how you get to those numbers.

But is it really nessecary to assign all those costs to the debut group? As far as I understand, SM has no trainee debt anyways, so how does it come into play how they assign the costs?

Its a publicly traded company.
The reason the trainees have no debt is SM was so succesful they have enough cash to pay up front. But those expenses/liabilities have to be off-set by income.
Ideally each expense will have an associated line item and that will be part of category.
So training may be abstracted out somewhat. I am sure they keep it as a long Term expense and use it to offset the income from the group for tax purposes. Much like movies do for example. Thats how you can have a movie that grosses a billion dollars and yet does not 'make' money.

For example much of my time is written off as a cap expense.

$1,515,000 = complete virtual recording studio for mixing and mastering + a few modern high end PCs for music production + a large collection of virtual instruments and sample collections + guest musicians (singers, instrumentalists) + some money left.

To be honest, I'd rather be a songwriter, mixer and producer (maybe a producer for K-Pop companies too) than starting my own K-Pop group.
