Something kind of sad that I learned while collecting photocards (1 Viewer)

You can really tell that some members are way more expensive and desirable to sellers and buyers and that therefore links also to the popularity of the member in a group.
Of course the value is going to be different for each country, for example one member might be insanely popular in Japan but be around the middle for the USA.

But still, although I like seeing that some of my biases are very cheap to collect (1-3$ a card), seeing that others in the same group are like $10-20 per card is sad. Wish all of the members could be well liked and popular at the same level, everyone deserves to be appreciated!

It seems to be a combo of kpop companies and the fans themselves. If a Kpop company will push a member, naturally they make their cards seems more desirable. However there’s other times where it goes by card and not member. For instance Kyungsoo’s forehead card from Universe goes for well over £100. I mean it’s a hilarious card, but I wouldn’t pay three figures for it. I only collect Xiumin’s cards as a member, but the amount of cards companies put into albums is crazy and just puts more pressure on fans to buy more albums looking at you JYP.

Yeah I’ve seen things similar, its fine to have a bias but I think all members need to be appreciated and shown the same amount of love and support.

I see this so much. I always wonder why one is like triple the price of the other members. I get there's more demand but its kind of crazy the range in price of same era cards.

I collect mostly for Taemin but keep other members of SHINee as well bc later I do want to collect all the members. When I do a search for Taemins photocards his newest for example.. they are selling from 50-100 USD while the other members are 10-25 USD.. It's crazy to me also bc the cards will drop in price a little later but people are still spending like 100$. It happens every time

honestly at this point i just hope idols don't see that stuff, i know if i was one i'd never look up my photocard prices. also while we're at it i wish i was rich enough to spend $20 on a piece of paper

im too scared to look up how much a youngjae or yugyeom photocard costs compared to like jackson or jinyoung lmao
