all right from what i understand after reading the article as well:

• korea has become just like the other girls, they're 0 when they're born and they turn a year older on their birthdays
• so you become an adult on your 19th birthday, not on 1st january of the year you turn 19
• so a bunch of people are suddenly minors now, including but not limited to wonyoung from ive, bahiyyih from kep1er, gyuvin from zb1, leehan (aka fish guy) from bnd. you guys get an extended childhood, enjoy! /j
• however that's not really the case, as people born in 2004 who already began doing adult things like enlisting in the military and purchasing alcohol and tobacco can keep doing so even if they haven't turned 19 yet. so wonyo hiyyih gyuvin and leehan can go out to get soju, no problem :)
• similarly, 2016ers who turned 8 in korean age this year can keep going to school cause they're already admitted, this is regardless of whether they turned 7 in international age yet or not (i guess it will still remain year-wise for school admissions, as the other girls do it)
• citizens are encouraged to give up a habit they've developed over generations, even in social situations and stuff. not gonna happen soon tbh, will take generations
