i stayed off twitter for a reason ugh. i can't believe he didn't say anything about it. even in the video about tseries and how his fans need to stop being racist towards indians he couldn't even say the words "stop being racist towards indians" he said "i do jokes about *ALL* races but let's not be distasteful" the guy really can't see the power he has and how people are empowered by his shitty behaviour.

Same. He is at no way responsible or anything but personally if someone went and massacred people and mentioned me by name I'd have a lot of things to say on the matter.

He did address both actually. When New Zealand happened he skipped day uploading (he uploads every day normally), said it was sickening and posted link to donation site to victims on youtube. He was against people making racist jokes and making it pewdiepie vs india and made charity live stream to rise money for indian children's education. He has fuck ups and lot of his humour is not for me, but he does address some things and doesn't condone everything that his fans do.

oh i didn't know he addressed it. i was looking out for a video since i stay off twitter but i can understand why he wouldn't want to do it on camera. i'm glad he spoke out. i respect him for his charity live stream and the fact that he went out of his way to turn the hate indians were getting into an opportunity to give charity, but the problem i have is his rhetoric in that same video. he can't say "stop being racist to indians" because he doesn't want to condemn the (small) percentage of his audience, so he assumes these people were just making jokes. i don't respect that. i don't understand why he couldn't just stand up to these people. because this sect of his audience weren't just joking. they were being racist. and to take that kind of bigotry and water it down as if its just distasteful jokes is terrible. he needs to be smarter than that.

Yes he maybe doesn't take his role seriously enough. Cause he does say he doesn't follow hate groups and white nationalists etc. , but those are some people that follow him and appreciate some of his content. He should be more strict renouncing it I think and acknowleding that there is problematic parts of his fandom that are using his stuff as ways to be racist, sexist, intolerant etc. even if he might not been his own intentions. yea that's what i mean when i say he doesn't understand the power he has...and seeing how many subscribers he has now, i wish he'd realize the impact he has on society and how his words matter.

you know he followed a few actual white nationalists and then unfollowed everyone and followed bts when he got caught. he tried to make it a joke but it's clearly not a joke. he's falling into that side of things because he thinks the left are too critical of him, but he doesn't stop and consider maybe some people have a point...

he followed this guy named stefan mollyneux who is a white nationalist. the problem people have these days is they can't critically analyse the rhetoric youtubers like him use and instead just leave it to the fact that "stefan says he's not a white nationalist therefore he must not be". he also followed lauren southern who once was offended that walking in paris she couldn't see any "white people". i really want him to be better than falling down this rabbit hole of hate.
