For some reason i just cannot connect with her.
Its actually like that with most kpop soloist.
Aside from those from groups who's voices i like i would never go out of my way to listen to any of them.
Certainly would never buy the music.

I don't like her voice enough to stay engaged in the slow songs. I think her appeal is her lyrics but, I loose interest well before i would ever look them up.(maybe all that over hype of good day burned me out, in my head she is a average vocal who gets by on charm.)

I know what you mean. I like her songs but am not a fan of her vocals. For example, I prefer this cover of "Friday"

Taeyeon for me; n I evened up the vote. It's purely subjective, for me: Taeyeon songs/singing I just love listening to.

Even tho I'm a bad SONE n hv some criticism of her as just a musical doll (like a music box, but humans) tats her strongest point.

From wat little I know of IU, she is more versatile n connects thru her charms; she acts n other stuff.

But Taeyeon is laser focused on singing/songs. (Subjective, I said.)

Really? I'm surprised there are people who don't like IU. I love her; I just prefer Taeyeon

Taeyeon discography is more my cup of tea and both have a beautiful voice but Taeyeon is winning if this domain for me. I prefer her voice.

Both are talented, but I choose Taeyeon. She has a beautiful song and Her sound is breathtaking. And she had many album and single and those songs was really good. If you said that Taeyeon just a singer for about 4 years, you're wrong. She is in the snsd for about 12 years, and she sang many ost before and after she solo debuted. She also joined SM The Ballad before she solo debut. :)
