Loosing the Toyota sponsorship deal had to impact this.
Team 8 was formed in 2014 with the concept of "Idols to meet" with the support of Toyota Motor Corporation. There are many unique activities within the group, gaining fans while appearing at events all over the country. Hitomi Honda (21) and Yui Oguri (21) produced core members of the group. Oguri sheds tears at the ending, she said, "AKB48 didn't recognize her at first," she said. "But now we're seeing so many fans at such a big venue," she thanked. Looking back on the joys and sorrows of the nine years she spent with the members, she said, "Team 8 was our youth. We love Team 8."
At the end, Honda read out a letter sent by General Producer Yasushi Akimoto, saying, "You guys who are different in birth and upbringing talk to each other, face each other, and little by little bonds are born in Team 8, and before you know it, they've become a team with stronger cohesion than anywhere else. It's been a long time." "Instead of saying goodbye, I'll give you these words. Thank you. Let's meet again."
Honda finished with a smile, saying, "I won't use the word dissolution, and I'll do my best to look forward to the day we can meet again."
i Had high hopes that team 8 would lead the regen but it just took so long and the pandemic was at an awful time for them.
