I was in a carpool going home, and there were all these kids in the back, right? Well, the driver had the radio on a hip-hop station, and when Anaconda came on, those kids, who couldn't have been older than kindergarteners or even preschoolers, knew EVERY. FUCKING. WORD. And to make matters worse, they were SHOUTING the lyrics! I can still hear them in the back shouting "MY ANACONDA DON'T! MY ANACONDA DON'T! MY ANACONDA DON'T WANT NONE UNLESS YOU GOT BUNS, HON!" Ughhhhhhhhh! The parents were probably like, "Oh, it's about an anaconda that's hungry for bread - yes, you may listen to it"!

Yeah. I had that happen to me, but the kids were singing a Katy Perry song.

But lets see.. The times when people say stupid sh-t like, "You like K-Pop? You must have been Korean in a past life." A majority of kids where I'm from must have been Japanese in a past life since we were all watching 4kidz on Saturdays.


And then there's the people who invest time in a certain activity that really say dumb sh-t... Like my brother who was a fan of Naruto. He was asking me if a friend of mine liked Anime. I said not really, because he didn't... and he [my brother] was like, "but he watches Family Guy and Futurama? Those are anime." Internally I cry.. Even if we want to go down the conversation of etymology of the word anime [which is usually used to win an argument], I can almost guarantee that otakus are going to cringe when they are talking about their favorite animes and you mention something like Family Guy or Bob's Burgers.

Or here's a good one. I heard this from a child and it is really an indictment of the education system: "Spanish[the language] originated in Mexico..." I told him it didn't... His reply "Yes, it did. You really don't know anything about life, do you..." I suppose though that Americans were the first to speak English too

edit: @Hopewrecked this one is similar to yours. When I was in 7th grade everyone had to dress up for halloween for class. This girl had this weird cat costume on and when asked she said [in front of the entire class] that she was a French Slut... The cringey part was that the teacher/s didn't even bat an eyelash or tell her that it was inappropriate... Very strange.

I was at a youth event, we were all sat around a campfire and a guy (he’s about 22) randomly asks “Why are some people born with that dot on the forehead?” (He was referring to the Bindi used in Hindu traditions) I wish I was joking.
