Honestly OP, I don't know. I would just suggest coming clean but that's probably too hard considering you have kept up the lie for so long. @Darth_Ozy do you have any other suggestions?

Well Idk, I think the person has to be okay with being single first. Will your friends shun you if you're the only single one in the group? And if they do, do you want them to be your friends anyway?
If you don't wanna come clean, go with the breakup story. Getting exposed for your lies would suck the most and be a surefire way to lose friends. Never feel pressured to start dating, it's the worse thing you can do.
