i don't think that 1 second of being blocked would've affected the outcome imo
Have you taken a Modern Physics class? Well, I have. Momentum equals mass multiplied by velocity. Being that momentum is a vector quantity, it effects magnitude and direction. In its abstract application, magnitude and directions affect morale and upkeep-- even with regards to momentum. If said one member is affected, all members of relay team are affected if they are close knit enough to form a ball of mass; thereby mass is momentum divided by the variant of that velocity.
In other words, yes, it may have affected the placement, let alone the outcome. Yes?
