As someone who lives in kind of the general area of the country where there used to be actual cowboys and who grew up watching Western movies, I don't hate the concept or anything like that, but I always find it mildly comical when it comes to their outfits and sets and often find myself thinking: "Now THAT'S something you'd never see in one of those old movies/back in the day". It's a fun concept, but never make the mistake of thinking it's historically accurate in any way. Then again, it obviously is just for fun and doesn't need to be, but still.
