The fromis_9 and pledis situation (2 Viewers)

Some concerning news have been circulating the kpop internet involving fromis_9’s inactivity. After putting out their first full-length album back in 2023, fromis has been essentially inactive since then. Even after the album was highly praised. Sure, some companies be very slow in regards to activities. But you can’t deny fromis’ rising popularity and success. Which btw they've been around for 6 years. Thats right…6!! What do they have to show for it well, one full album a couple EPs and a couple single releases. Thats it.

and now… fromis_9 is feeling the effects of being stuck in the blackhole of inactivity with Chaeyoung bringing up her frustrations on weverse and even Hayoung crying after announcing that she wants to sing more but just can’t because there are no promotions happening. Obviously, this group is frustrated and its now showing. As for the fans, they have their pitchforks ready. Because they KNOW Pledis has an ugly track record with girl groups.

Something weird is happening here with fromis I swear. Back before they even announced the full album to begin with, fans became worried when they noticed fromis members suddenly becoming inactive in ALL social media platforms for more than a month. While Pledis stood silent. Now, the album still released and was a success as far as I know. But idk, i get this feeling that something’s not right.

And here we are with the most talented, profitable group of this generation not getting an ounce of content in order to promote themselves, their content, their music, being able to express their musicality etc. and fromis know this. They want to sing, they want to be on stage, they obviously want to be with the fans. For whatever reason, even after noticing fromis skyrocketing in popularity, Pledis is just not doing anything with them.

A recent post started circulating as Pledis sorta responded to the frustrations and stating that there will be a possible comeback and more promotions. Very loose management speech so take it with a grain of salt. But now that the entire internet is aware of this, maybe they’ll do something? Hoping? Maybe? Pledis is already announcing their plans of their new GG 2025…so god save us all.

its weird now they claim that festivals are giving em love calls ect.

A year while long is pretty standard at times for a 6+ year group coming up on contract renewal.

Covid and the lack of physical/festival/ concerts really really hurt the smaller groups.

and pushing 200k is great but i was just talking about this with some others the bigger companies want more than that.

its honestly crazy.
like how Kep1er is a flop cuz the dont sell 500k + well they are just getting over 100 now.

ironically i am not sure i bout any of the last three albums my house is still such a mess and my system is so messed up.
i do have all the others for sure .

i do have a different timeline than you i see 3 songs since 2021
maybe you meant 2023 June's comeback. and a year while long is pretty standard at times for a 5+ year group.

The June 2023 comeback was the album that I mentioned thats the last thing they have done. Other than that, its just singles, EPs and OSTs scattered around.

it took red Velvet 9 years for 3 and bp has 1.

Given how Pledis treated teh rest of their gg fromis is getting songs.

I mean a year isn’t the end of the world but I think people are just frustrated at the fact that they’ve been doing nothing in the meantime and looking at their tiny discography, people start to get concerned that they are being put in the back burner. They did do a concert but no tour, south of the equator it was summer and that would have been easy money.
