Thoughts on doing a b-side tournament? (1 Viewer)

@fairyOfshampOO brought up the idea and I'd like to do it, but I'll only do it if a good group of people do also want it. It'd maybe start some days/a week after the soty tournament, same rules apply just no singles this time. Would you participate or is one enough?

Yeah that's my problem: Soty are strictly songs promoted so people are somewhat familiar with the songs while going in, b-sides arent i don't think people who'd participate take the 5-10 mins out of their day to listen, im worried users wont listen to the songs and will just vote for the group they recognise (not that people dont do that in soty already).
Nevertheless I'm happy to get feedback, thanks for responding!

TBH, I feel like everyone should be listening to all of the songs each round anyway, so regardless of whether or not I've personally heard the song before in the SOTY tournament. I don't really feel like pre-existing familiarity should be deciding one's favorite song in each round, so even if the tournament is populated with 90% songs I've not heard before, it'll be fine.

Besides, a lot of albums' best songs are actually the B sides.

I'd participate! I think the whole point of any song tournament should be to get users to check out songs they may not have heard before, so defos a b-side tournament!
