Damn, that's awful. : (
Disney in itself is a shitty company so I'm not surprised.
I just hate that I have to continue giving them money because they produce some quality content (for the most part).

Disney always knows how to give me frustration somehow

But yeah, I mean, they have X-men now and they may adapt Thunderbolts soon, so...

I'm boycotting the film (personally) for a number of reasons...
Ranging from the lead actress supporting police brutality in Hong Kong. Even though she's an American citizen that's comfortably living in the US.
To the film being filmed in Xinjiang, and film makers thanking the authorities there... If you aren't too familiar with that area. That's where you can find the internment camps that are committing human atrocities against minority groups such as the Uyghur muslims.

Yeah this is exactly why I just pirated it. I remember back in 2019 when Liu Fe Yifei posted about it and was like "Everyone can hate me..." and deciding then I was going to skip it in theaters. I only found out about the Xianjiang location stuff a day or two ago and its honestly disgusting. Disney will preach about morals ad values as a company but have absolutely none.

I've been disappointed with all live action adaptations so far of Disney animated classics. Haven't seen Mulan yet, but I might give it a pass due to the lead actress' support for Chinese police brutality clashing with my personal beliefs. Even though it has Donnie Yen, one of my all time favs lol.

True, I watched Aladdin for the first time the other day and it wasn't bad but so lackluster for reasons I can't even pinpoint. The best thing about the live action Beauty and the Beast was Evermore lol

I've heard they've butchered it and removed whatever soul Mulan originally had. I might watch it still, but I won't be paying for it lmfao. I'll pirate the damn thing.

I have heard so many issues about it both about the film and controversies surrounding it's production that I haven't rly been interested even if Mulan is one of my favorites.

Yeah and I actually think Aladdin is the best of their live action stuff so far lol even tho it's nothing great, just decent. But I liked Will Smith and the actress who played Jasmine

I have to agree its the best with that reasoning lol. Yep, I understand that they pretty much have do what the government there wants but I also don't have to pay for anything they put out.

I have Disney Plus but I am not paying 30 dollars to watch that movie. I'm watching it illegally 😌✨

The part about making Mulan magical and it being kind of like "chosen one" storyline is what puts me off from watching the movie. As a young girl I saw that the reason why most guys and girls loved Mulan is because of how much she overcame through her own hard work and perseverance. It's an admirable and inspiring journey that is kind of deflated in what people are saying the new movie has done with her.

I'll still watch it when it comes out on regular Disney + but I don't know if I'm going to like it based on that part that they changed.

Now even the China goverment is avoiding this movie as if it was poisoned.

They forbid critics from talking about it, so it'll be a huge flop.

I hope Disney has problems even to release their next movies there.

Let this terrible movie at least help the chinese people somehow lol
