I’m currently in my second college program. I think I can help a little. If you have the option to pick the times for your classes, chunk them close together so you have multiple days off. I would use those days to either work part time or do assignments. You will need to put aside a decent amount of time for projects, and there will be little reminders that things will be due. I recommend writing a list. My laptop has been a saviour. If handwritten notes aren’t your thing, writing notes on a device works too. Record parts of lectures if the professor is going too fast. Revisiting after class can help fill in blanks in your notes. Don’t bring clunky binders, it just wasted time and space. Notebooks are your friend. Familiarize yourself with the building: routes to classes, where the bathroom is, cafeteria location, etc. During my first week of classes I stayed behind and explored the school.
