Kevin Woo. He debuted in 2006 in a group called XING, redebuted in UKISS in 2008 where he was with them for the next ten years. Tried his hand at musicals, even starring in a Broadway show that was quickly killed after just 17 performances. And now he's finally getting his flowers after being Mystery Saja in KPDH. To me, he epitomizes the fact that an idol being under a nugu company or in a nugu group does not mean that they are less talented or skilled or hard working. (Winner's Mino being another one who literally blew up just having Big Three support after he got into YGE.)

BTS Kim Taehyung (V)

V was born in Daegu and raised in Geochang, a rural farming area. His family didn’t have much money; his father was a farmer, and V has often said he wanted to become a farmer too before discovering music. He went to Seoul only after his dad encouraged him to chase his dream — something rare in conservative rural families. He auditioned for BigHit almost by accident — he only went to support his friend, but a staff member asked him to audition. He was the only person from Daegu who passed that day. He’s one of the most recognizable faces in K-pop globally. Named in countless “most handsome” lists, collaborated with Celine, Cartier, and Jazz artists, and released a successful solo album Layover (2023)

Seventeen Joshua!

Joshua was born and raised in LA to Korean parents, and he was scouted by Pledis after a random Koreatown performance. He never expected to have to move to Korea and become a K-pop idol, but there he was! H hardly knew any Korean and iirc got very homesick when he first movewd, but nowadays, he speaks Korean fluently and absolutely loves being in Seventeen. I, for one, am so proud of him for that, and this is why he's my bias!

Once upon a time there was a kpop company named AB entertainment and a Shinsadong Tiger pre deceasement. It was early 2012 and 6 girls were set to debut. On the 15th of February that year, Kang Dami, Jung Yuji, Ahn L.E., Ahn Hani, Na Haeryung, and Park Jeonghwa would walk onto the stage debuting with the single "Holla" and the title track Whoz That Girl. To AB and Tiger's dismay, the debut wasn't a huge success. Not making their situation better, three members, the aforementioned Dami, Yuji, and Haeryung left the company and group as a whole, leaving their lineup split in half. This is terrible for any new group but was basically a death sentence for a company like AB. With their lineup now split in half, AB brought in trainee Seo Hyelin and then vocal coach for the group Huh Solji. After this the group would periodically release single after EP that saw limited success just as much. AB was losing hope. But in late October of 2014, a single that previously failed to chart well earlier that year gained notoriety after a fancam of Hani went viral. It quickly snagged wins on Music Core, Inkigayo, and Music Bank among others. That song was Up & Down, and that group was EXID; now cherished by fans of the early 2010s era of girl groups.
