Honestly, Australia is a hard one since we're pretty multi-cultural. Not to mention, I don't think we even have any traditional dishes (like dinner meals) that belong to us. So I'm just going to do Australian food traditions and everyone else can just post Traditional foods from your country. That probably doesn't make much sense but anywho. I should just do Turkey but I'm a lazy bum and there's a lot from Turkey lol. But they have the best food so go google some Turkish food people.

Not in order of importance:

LAMINGTONS

Starting off sweet, lamingtons are considered Australia's national cakes. It's basically an Australian sponge cake that is coated in chocolate sauce and shredded coconut. They're usually in small bite-size pieces and you can find some filled with jam and/or cream as well.

BBQ SNAGS

Or basically just BBQ sausages. If you ever come to Australia, it wouldn't take you long to figure out that Aussies love their BBQs. Some have one every week and some others at least 2 times a month. But for the average Australian family, almost any family event involves a BBQ. And sausages seem to be the favorite among Aussies. So popular and loved that almost every public event ends is a "sausage sizzle" which is basically just BBQ sausages in some white bread. Some schools even have a sausage sizzle event every Friday lunch.

MEAT PIES

You're not a true Aussie if you have never had a meat pie before. A traditional Australian pie should be hand-sized, filled with mincemeat and gravy and topped with tomato sauce. The most popular food item at any school canteen or any sports event and even at most bakeries is always the meat pie. We even have meat pie competitions...

VEGEMITE

If you haven't ever tried it out, then honestly you're not missing out on anything. It's an Australian yeast extract spread and it has a pretty bitter taste. But somehow it's a sandwich favorite and it continues to sell well. I wonder if that's because people actually like it or if this is a case of patriotism.

And I can't leave with mentioning the best chocolate bar that isn't sold anywhere but here:

CHERRY RIPE!

yum yum yum yum yummmmmm

If there's any Aussie out here, correct me if I'm wrong about us not having any traditional dishes. I just have never come across a real Australian dish before. Probably because we're so multicultural too so we adopt dishes from all over the world rather than creating our own? I don't know. Apparently Chicken Parmigiana is considered an Aussie dish but I'm not sure if that's because we created it or if it's because it's just super popular here. Apparently Pavlova is an Australian creation too but that's apparently controversial because NZ also claims it as their's lol.

These are more snacks than meals but like I said, I don't know any actual Australian dish. I hoenstly don't think they exist. Or maybe they did at one point in history but then died out when more and more people from different countries starting moving to Australia. Like the most Aussie meal is BBQ dinners lol.

Not food/produce that grow in your country but actual dishes. Like foods that your country invented or foods that are most popular in your country. Could also be food that your country is known for. :)

Not Australian, but Vegemite is disgusting. I've always wanted to try a Lamington though.

As for me, I've grown up with a lot of foods from different countries, since my family is from all over the place, especially Persian, Arabic, and Israeli food. I don't think there's anything specific my county is known for.

Croissant
i think it's very popular among foreigner
it's a pastry made of 80% of butter, honestly it's not so good when it came out of the oven, they are better warm up in the microwave x)))

Crepe

10976

Ratatouille

10977

La fondue
10978

and Meat and cheese (
how i can talk about french food without mention it)

10980

Honestly i'll just stop here because there is too much french traditional food between meals, pastry, all the different cheese, etc....
plus it's honestly hard to choose a traditional food who represent the whole france
because each city have their own specialities

You HAVE to try cherry ripe at least once. It's actually amazing.

Lamingtons are alright. Honestly, they're not anything great. Just alright.

And yes, I don't understand how people like vegemite. It's actually disgusting.

Yeh croissants are very popular here. I only like the ones with chocolate though. Fondue looks interesting. Is that a cheese dip? It looks like bechamel sauce.

Oh really? I feel like I'd like them since I love chocolate and coconut.

And yeah, not really sure what the person who invented vegemite was thinking. It's horrible.

" croissant " with chocolat are called "pain au chocolat" ( which means chocolat bread) or "chocolatine" in some region, and if you need to talk with a french about it always say " pain au chocolat " it's the biggest debate in France

and yes it's cheese dip, it's a mix of different cheese with a little of white wine and you dip bread in it and you eat it
it's a meal that french love during the winter because it's very warm, and it's a tradition to eat this meal when you go skiing during holiday with you friends during the week end etc... to eat it

Pad thai, Gaeng Daeng, Tom Yum Goong (I don't like seafood though, yuck)
I have always wanted to try Pad Thai but I always chicken out last minute and go for Thai Green Curry. For some reason I'm always too scared to try it. But it looks so good. The reviews just always scare me.
