Oh boy, I really wanted to love this more than I actually did.

Everything else is 10/10. The vocals, rap, especially the choreo good lord
Hyunsuk rapping while drumming, fucking A!!!

Alas, that chorus. After Boy, I was hoping for more of an actual chorus rather than another YG drop. It's not bad but definitely stops the song in moving from good to great territory.

Still, wishing them the best, I'm sure this will sell great too and they're extremely successful rookies already.

I think they got 200K in pre-orders again so they are selling well physically.

I know! I felt the exact same way! You get used to it after a few listens but I think it still would've been better if they had kept the funky vibe from the beginning.

I agree I think if they went with the same vibe throughout the song they would actually stand out considering beat drops are trendy nowadays. even if there was still a beat drop they could have made it more chill.

I prefer both Boy and Come to Me to the Chapter 2 songs. Boy is a more musically cohesive song than I Love You and the chorus is more melodic as well. I also dislike the bridge on ILY. Come to Me has an instant charm B.L.T lacks imo.

Regarding the MV's: ILY is super dissonant for me. There are parts I love (rap line, Doyoung, Jaehyuk, black outfits, beach without stage, Junghwan running on the bridge) and parts I just want to skip (school uniform in studio, beach with stage, running around the giant closet, ocean wave screen). I just want to cut the MV into two different versions like how 2NE1 had the Fire and Space versions for 'Fire': ILY cute version and ILY fierce version. I would then stream the version without the school uniforms and white/blue outfits even though I really like some of the beach and bridge scenes. The background of the white/blue outfit section brought up a phobia I was unaware I had.

The Boy MV, even though I didn't like a lot of the styling, I have more neutral feelings about...except for Yoshi's pink patent leather coat. That thing was ugly af.

lol I haven't even looked through it yet. I thought their debut was kind of boring but saw that a lot of people liked it so maybe the universe wanted me to do a reverse lmao
