BANG YE DAM of TREASURE, ‘YG’s 7th Year Trainee’, to Release Solo Single in June

[마이데일리=양유진 기자] BANG YE DAM of TREASURE, YG Entertainment’s rookie group, will release his first solo single album.

On May 21, YG Entertainment officially announced that BANG YE DAM’s solo single will be released in June through a fan announcement.

YG explained, “We’ve been preparing BANG YE DAM’s solo music before TREASURE was formed” and added, “We’ve decided that it would be a good decision to release a song that was completed in June, prior to TREASURE’s debut, as a surprise gift for the fans”.

In addition to the news on BANG YE DAM’s upcoming solo single, which was unexpected by the fans, TREASURE’s plans for the second half of this year were also revealed.

YG stated, “TREASURE is planning to release new songs 3~4 times until the end of the year, after making debut in July”. They explained, “It’s a similar promotion method of how BIGBANG released single albums every month when they first made debut back in 2006”.

No details on the song or an exact release date have been revealed, but BANG YE DAM’s upcoming solo single is expected to raise the global music fans’ expectations on TREASURE’s debut in July.

After winning second place on SBS ‘K-Pop Star Season 2’ back in 2012 as a 11-year old child, BANG YE DAM received the spotlight in addition to his title as the ‘genius kid’. He then received 7 years of training at YG Entertainment to improve his musical capabilities and skills.

BANG YE DAM’s soulful emotions and voice color are unrivaled. His cover video of ‘There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back’(originally performed by Shawn Mendes) surpassed 35 million views on YouTube, while his cover of ‘HONESTY’(originally performed by Pink Sweat$) also became popular among the fans and received positive reviews that he ‘lived up to his reputation’.

TREASURE, consisted of members including BANG YE DAM, CHOI HYUN SUK, JIHOON, YOSHI, JUNKYU, MASHIHO, YOON JAE HYUK, ASAHI, DOYOUNG, HARUTO, PARK JEONG WOO, and SO JUNG HWAN, were born through the survival program ‘YG TREASURE BOX’.

TREASURE has recently been ranked at no. 1 on Twitter’s global trend rankings through the hashtag #TREASURE_DEBUT_ON_JULY. Foreign media have also spotlighted the group by calling them ‘YG’s next generation boy group that will lead the agency’s future’ following BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON, as well as regarding them as the biggest rising starks of K-Pop in 2020.

Meanwhile, YG uploaded BANG YE DAM’s solo teaser clip in addition to the fan announcement through their official blog.

In the end of the video, one of the 12 dots which represent TREASURE shined brightly, implying BANG YE DAM’s solo single release. Then all 12 dots shined together, implying TREASURE’s upcoming debut.

YG’s Rookie Group TREASURE, Individual→Couple Missions… The ‘Fun Variety Senses’ by the 12 Members

[OSEN=이승훈 기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE presented one of the funniest episodes through their harmony and mental warfare presented during mission impossible.

On May 22 at 12 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded episode 19 of ‘TREASURE MAP’ through their official blog and TREASURE’s official YouTube channel.

From individual missions with cute clumsiness and senses to couple missions where they presented tight friendship among the members, the group grabbed the fans’ hearts by showing off their variety of charms.

After arriving in the mission room for the first time, YOON JAE HYUK selected his partner card while hoping it would be PARK JEONG WOO. The result surprised everyone, since PARK JEONG WOO’s name was written on the card as if it was destiny. The members who followed up selected missions smoothly. Meanwhile, the members who selected difficult missions closed their eyes and made awkward facial expressions, making the viewers burst into laughter.

The members then gathered in the living room and started moving to serve their first missions. HARUTO, who selected the ‘butt petting’ mission, approached BANG YE DAM and made everyone in the scene burst into laughter with his surprising comment, “I have something to eat in my butt, would you like to touch it?”. CHOI HYUN SUK approached YOSHI naturally while people were confused due to the missions and applied lip balm on YOSHI, successfully completing his mission.

JIHOON approached MASHIHO, who had a good mood because he succeeded in his mission, and went in circles after holding his hand, which MASHIHO reacted joyfully without suspicion. After listening to JIHOON stating, “Sorry, it was actually you”, MASHIHO stood still and froze on the spot, making the people laugh. After the fierce mental warfare, 7 members succeeded in completing the first mission.

After being delivered the second ‘hold your stuff’ mission, JIHOON showed his aspects as the ‘reaction fairy’ by presenting a 4-step change in his facial expression. When the game began, the members packed their mission objects and began hiding in the kitchen. Unlike the other members who moved busily, DOYOUNG could not hid his banana ad hugged it, making the members burst into laughter. CHOI HYUN SUK acted superbly even in the second mission. CHOI HYUN SUK found JIHOON’s A4 paper as soon as the mission began and continued to find objects like a detective. On the second mission which was more difficult than the first mission, only 4 members including CHOI HYUN SUK, YOON JAE HYUK, ASAHI, and SO JUNG HWAN achieved their tasks.

On the final ‘couple mission’, the chemistry between the members stood out more than the competition, which presented joy for the fans. They seemed to disturb other couples at first, but soon showed a sweet mood while executing the missions with their partners. While they did not stop their jolly laughter, all 6 teams successfully completed their missions, while CHOI HYUN SUK and ASAHI were announced as the final members in an amicable mood.

Meanwhile, TREASURE has confirmed their debut to be in upcoming June. Prior to TREASURE’s debut, BANG YE DAM will release his solo single in June and begin pre-heating for the group’s full-scale debut.

TREASURE Reveals Debut Poster Behind Film… Expectations UP

[OSEN=김보라 기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE revealed their team identity of strong energy prior to their official debut.
On May 23 at 12 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded the behind film of TREASURE’s debut poster shooting scene through their official blog and official social media account.
The revealed clip showed TREASURE wearing a white top with ‘TREASURE’ written on them, along with beige colored jumpsuits while staring at the camera. The jumpsuit styling which connected the top and bottom in one piece gave a dynamic yet comfortable look.
The 12 members revealed their own unique charms as well as presenting their energetic mood as a team.
PARK JEONG WOO, the member who has a charming voice, let go of his usual joyous image and dominated the mood with his sincere looking eyes. DOYOUNG revealed his confidence by looking serious. YOON JAE HYUK grabbed the viewers’ attention with his shiny eyes and visuals full of boyishness.

SO JUNG HWAN, the youngest member, grabbed the people’s attention with his fierce energy on par with the elder members. HARUTO presented a pictorial-like mood with his tall physique and natural poses. MASHIHO revealed his passion and ambition with his big shiny eyes.
JUNKYU, the characterful vocalist, pulled off the jumpsuit perfectly with his great physique. ASAHI grabbed the viewers’ attention in an instant with his handsome and well-defined features. BANG YE DAM, the vocal genius, left a strong impression with his calm yet grown looks.
YOSHI revealed his soft charisma through his white skin and chic eyes. JIHOON, the member with abundant emotions, presented a special aura with his charming poses and eye contact. CHOI HYUN SUK, known for his rap skills and stage manner, revealed his freewheeling charms.
TREASURE is receiving attention from music fans in and out of Korea due to the recent announcement on the group’s upcoming debut in July. In addition, the group will warm up for their full-scale debut by releasing BANG YE DAM’s solo single in June, prior to TREASURE’s official debut, which is also raising the fans’ expectations.

[OSEN=박소영 기자] CHOI HYUN SUK and DOYOUNG shared their clear thoughts on fashion and laughed together.
On May 25 at 12 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded the ‘T-TALK’ by CHOI HYUN SUK X DOYOUNG through their official blog and TREASURE’s official social media account.
Regarding DOYOUNG’s outfit that day, CHOI HYUN SUK reviewed, “It’s definitely DOYOUNG. You can’t expect or predict it. DOYOUNG’s outfits become boring if you try to do that”.
DOYOUNG has previously appeared in all-red, even his beanie and scarf, on episode 10 T-LOG of ‘TREASURE MAP’, which grabbed the people’s attention.
DOYOUNG explained his fashion by stating, “I have a couple clothes which people won’t wear. It’s fun to coordinate them and think, ‘People will be surprised’. It’s kind of a challenge”. CHOI HYUN SUK responded, “I’ve always respected DOYOUNG. I’ve applauded him even when the members told him, ‘What’s this’”.
DOYOUNG also made the people laugh by stating, “I recently got into ‘color matching’. I want to have beanies, hats, and scarves in all rainbow colors. I’ll even dye my hair with the same color one day”.
DOYOUNG chose members JUNKYU and PARK JEONG WOO as members he would like to pass on his fashion. He explained, “JUNKYU goes first. I’ve never seen him wear different shoes and pants for a month. His fashion never changed for a year”.
CHOI HYUN SUK agreed to DOYOUNG and stated, “JUNKYU has amazing looks. It would be awesome if he dresses well to. It’s hard to see him not utilize his proportions and handsome looks”.
He stated, “Fashion lets me become and express myself like music”. He added, “You need to go through a lot of processes before presenting music, but in fashion you just need to wear it before you go out. I get confidence through clothes when I can’t express myself with music”.
TREASURE is about to make debut in July. Prior to their official debut, BANG YE DAM’s solo single will be released in June as a warmup for TREASURE’s debut. The global fans are paying keen attention on the debut of TREASURE, the group who has been meeting their fans through various video contents including ‘T-TALK’, ‘TREASURE MAP’, ‘TMI’, ‘Fact Check’, and ‘A 3 Minute TREASURE’.
