TREASURE’s Vocal Line Presents Live Clip of ‘WAYO’, Supports BANG YE DAM’s Solo Track

[뉴스엔=황혜진 기자] The five members of TREASURE’s vocal line performed BANG YE DAM’s first solo single ‘WAYO’, presenting a fantastic collaboration.
On June 12 at 4 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded the ‘WAYO’ live video by TREASURE’s vocal line composed of JIHOON·JUNKYU·MASHIHO·BANG YE DAM·PARK JEONG WOO through their official blog and TREASURE’s official social media account.
The video presented a unique cover of ‘WAYO’, sung by harmonies created by vocalists of TREASURE prior to their official debut. With a warm mood as a background, they presented 5 unique harmonies. The different charms and emotions blended harmoniously, putting the viewers in awe.
JUNKYU calmly began singing with the mellow and beautiful guitar riff. He grabbed the people’s attention in an instant with his boyish face and tall physique. His unique vocals and sturdy mood raised a sense of immersion to the video.
JIHOON then received the baton and led the song with his powerful voice and stable singing skills. He successfully pulled off the mournful lyrics with his sentimental looking eyes, which blended well with the mood of the song.
The chorus part which is composed of the repeated question, ‘Why’, was performed with more wail through the harmony of BANG YE DAM and PARK JEONG WOO. They raised the mood of the song by delicately expressing one’s sincere and empty question of not being able to accept a breakup.
MASHIHO then led the song to its calm mood with his soft voice. His clear vocals added on top of the beautiful guitar sound touched the viewers’ sentimental emotions.
In the bridge, the five members sang in turn along with the magnificent string sounds in the background. The harmonies stacked up, raising the emotion to its climax. The different charms of JIHOON·JUNKYU·MASHIHO·BANG YE DAM·PARK JEONG WOO blended harmoniously, presenting the perfect live performance.
The song ‘WAYO’ became a hot topic before its official release, due to the cover song support by senior artists of YG. Starting with TAEYANG of BIGBANG and ROSÉ of BLACKPINK, YOON of WINNER, JU-NE of iKON, and LEE SU HYUN of AKMU covered ‘WAYO’ with their own unique charms, raising expectations on the upcoming live performance clip of ‘WAYO’. Furthermore, starting on the 10th, the ‘WAYO’ cover contest is currently being held with the active participation of global fans.
TREASURE is a boy group composed of 12 members including CHOI HYUN SUK·JIHOON·YOSHI·JUNKYU·MASHIHO·YOON JAE HYUK·ASAHI·BANG YE DAM·DOYOUNG·HARUTO·PARK JEONG WOO·SO JUNG HWAN. With their upcoming debut in July, they are receiving attention from global music fans as YG’s next generation group that will follow BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON.

In 7 Years Since ‘K-Pop Star 2’… LEE SU HYUN X BANG YE DAM Presents Duet Performance of ‘WAYO’

[스타뉴스=윤상근 기자] LEE SU HYUN of AKMU and BANG YE DAM of YG’s rookie group TREASURE presented a surprised duet performance of ‘WAYO’. The two people who were recognized as ‘genius vocalists’ who won first and second place on SBS ‘K-Pop Star Season 2’ have met and collaborated in 7 years.
On June 15 at 6 PM, LEE SU HYUN X BANG YE DAM’s duet performance of ‘WAYO’ was revealed through YG Entertainment’s official blog and SU HYUN’s YouTube channel.
SU HYUN and BANG YE DAM went back and forth while performing each bar as if they were having a conversation, presenting their unique version of ‘WAYO’. SU HYUN led the song with her unique fresh and mellow vocals, while BANG YE DAM raised the mournful mood of the song with his deep soul and unique tone. The two people raised the emotions of the song to its climax just through their harmony, putting the viewers in awe.
‘WAYO’ is a song that expresses the empty and lonely question of not being able to accept a breakup with BANG YE DAM’s unique vocals. The acoustic version of ‘WAYO’ presented through their recent live performance combined with the two artists’ sweet vocals completed ‘WAYO’ with different charms from that of the original version.
The fans in and out of Korea were delighted by the collaboration between SU HYUN and BANG YE DAM. The two artists have received attention through SBS ‘Survival Audition K-Pop Star Season 2’ prior to their debut and have been loved through their collaborative performance at the time of its broadcast.
SUHYUN has previously uploaded her cover of ‘WAYO’ on her social media account on the date of the song’s release to support BANG YE DAM. She left a comment, “YE DAM, let’s do a duet together” on the post, which raised anticipation on the two artists’ duet performance.
Along with the performance video, SU HYUN introduced, “I made a small spoiler, did you guess? This clip is! The duet performance of ‘WAYO’ with YE DAM, whom I met in 7 years”. She shared her thoughts and showed support by adding, “A couple duet makes the song feel different from its original. We sang together in quite a while. Please go listen to YE DAM’s version of ‘WAYO’, and our duet version of ‘WAYO’”.
Meanwhile, ‘WAYO’ topped iTunes charts in 9 different countries, receiving heated responses from the global fans. The people are now paying keen attention to TREASURE’s next step, as the group will make their full group debut in upcoming July.

YG’s Rookie Group TREASURE Goes on a Picnic to an Amusement Park… Full of Childlike ‘Pureness+Happiness’

[스포츠서울=김선우기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE went back to their innocence of childhood and made precious memories while having fun.
On June 19 at 12 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded episode 23 of ‘TREASURE MAP’ through their official blog and TREASURE’s YouTube channel. The episode showed the members of TREASURE going on a picnic with excited hearts. They played the spin the towel game, a treasure hunt, and even held a writing contest, spending a happy time together as well as deepening their friendship.
The members of TREASURE began playing the spin the towel game in the grass field nearby. HARUTO reached a winning percentage of 100% with his fast body and senses, becoming the emperor of the spin the towel game. Meanwhile, JIHOON and JUNKYU who looked confident and stated, “You shouldn’t keep on looking back! Use your senses”, received the final penalty since they did not realize until YOON JAE HYUK and ASAHI turned a full lap. DOYOUNG and YOSHI also responded late on the continuing game, making the people laugh.
The following game was lunch treasure hunt. The members of TREASURE running around joyfully as soon as the game began made the viewers smile like mothers. SO JUNG HWAN went on the treasure hunt while laughing innocently, revealing his cuteness as the youngest member.
CHOI HYUN SUK and JUNKYU exchanged notes that read ‘fail’ and ‘straw’, making the people laugh. BANG YE DAM and HARUTO, the duo with the best chemistry, went on the search together. BANG YE DAM gave a note he found to HARUTO, which was heartwarming. PARK JEONG WOO gave CHOI HYUN SUK a note that read ‘bulgogi burger’, while the other members also revealed their friendship while taking care of each other.
The members worked hard to find treasure besides notes with lunch menus written on them. After the members spotted CHOI HYUN SUK running towards the opening spot, they also started to run. The members then showed their goofy charms by enjoying amusement rides.
ASAHI was the one who found the treasure. He looked around and hid it inside his clothes and raised the tension by explaining that he should secure the treasure until all games have ended.
The members then spent a happy time enjoying amusement rides. SO JUNG HWAN, who tried to take care of ASAHI who felt dizzy due to the ride, found his treasure and began an intense chase.
Leader CHOI HYUN SUK became the winner of the writing contest held afterwards. CHOI HYUN SUK decided the penalties for JUNKYU, YOON JAE HYUK, and DOYOUNG as mountain hiking.
After all games have ended, the members asked, “Who has the treasure now?”. DOYOUNG pulled out the treasure, instead of SO JUNG HWAN. All members froze at the unexpected result. The members could not hide their surprises and yelled, “Why does DOYOUNG have it”.
The treasure hunt full of reversals and twists has ended with ASAHI-DOYOUNG-SO JUNG HWAN sharing the treasure. On the cookie clip presented at the end of the episode, the members performed their biking penalty and built Legos in the training room to improve their concentration levels, presenting something fun to watch.
Meanwhile, TREASURE is connecting with their global fans through various contents including ‘TREASURE MAP’, prior to their upcoming debut in July.
