in a way it's a bit shocking, but on the other hand also not surprising given how hard they always go

I had no ideaNot surprising. Athletes get oxygen too. It just supplemental oxygen and helps with performance![]()
Concentrated oxygen speeds up recovery. That's why certain people heal 2-3 times faster in hyperbaric chambers. It let's your saturate your blood oxygen by like 20x the normal levels.I had no idea![]()
I’m curious how breathing O2 helps, since from my understanding people breathing normal air already expel a ton of excess oxygen as is. Does breathing pure O2 somehow increase how much oxygen one retains?Concentrated oxygen speeds up recovery. That's why certain people heal 2-3 times faster in hyperbaric chambers. For hyperbaric chambers, the jncrease atmospheric pressure allows you to saturate your blood more and force it into tissues that are recovering.I’m curious how breathing O2 helps, since from my understanding people breathing normal air already expel a ton of excess oxygen as is. Oh yeah I wasn’t talking about the hyperbaric chambers since there’s the pressure difference, just the oxygen tanks. Interesting thoughFor hyperbaric chambers, the jncrease atmospheric pressure allows you to saturate your blood more and force it into tissues that are recovering.
Ummm I dont remember the exact science. Under normal conditions yes the extra oxygen concentration in oxygen tanks don't do much good. However under intense workout, say a 3 minute choreo, your body switch to another pathway of energy utilization that doesn't require oxygen but the by product of this pathway are things like co2 and lactic acid build up. After your done with your performance, you're essentially in "oxygen debt" and you need it to get rid of of it. So essentially pure oxygen allows your hemoglobin to be at near 100% oxygen saturation instead od 95%. So it helps you recover in quicker time before your next song is due.
wow, that sounds very scientificFor hyperbaric chambers, the jncrease atmospheric pressure allows you to saturate your blood more and force it into tissues that are recovering.

I think fans need to know so they don't freak out when they see oxygen tanks. They're not that scarywow, that sounds very scientific![]()

me neither, it's good some threads also take positive turnsDid not expect this thread to be so educational, but I learned a lot!
