my history teacher said something uncalled for and I'm not quite fond of that. I can't do anything about it but speak out but that won't change his mind, nothing I do will change his mind.
"girls are supposed to be quiet, no one likes loud girls. girls are supposed to quiet"
when I heard that, I was honestly shocked, I just turned around and said "excuse me" it was a small quip, but loud enough to be heard by my classmates. my sister had to clasp her hand over my mouth, but I wasn't going to say anything uncalled for. I was just going to ask him what he meant by that and why what he was saying is wrong.
it has a deeper meaning then what you may think.
he is saying "a girl should be quiet" implying that we should be quiet, but why? why are we expected to be quiet but when boys are they ignore it and say "boys are boys"
it's not fair, why should I be quiet due to my gender? I may be over-analyzing this. it just sits wrong with me, and that's fine.
he didn't say, boys are supposed to be quiet, as a class whole we are all supposed to be quiet and hell the boys were talking more than the girls.
but why did he say that?
what irks me the most is that he said: "no one likes loud girls" but so what? that doesn't matter, it's not important. no one likes loud boys either but how is that important? the level of my voice doesn't determine whether someone likes me or not.
someone made fun of my lisp, that was a very rare thing because I allowed my true self to come to light, though no one saw me cry expect my sister. I don't know why I let it get to me, it's just such a sensitive topic for me, very sensitive.
I didn't sob, I just shed 2 tears and bit my lip. I was just so hurt because I hate crying at school, it breaks my shell and reveals my core.
at school no one knows me, the real me, everyone thinks I'm normal but I'm not.
school is unfortunate
