Appreciation Unnecessarily rambling about a song that not many people like (1 Viewer)

I'm talking about Gas Pedal by Cravity. Wow how surprising from the Luvity lol but there's something special about this song. It's not the best song on Earth or as great as many K-pop classics, but I can't really seem to hate it as much as other people do.

When talking about Gas Pedal, the first thing that comes to my mind is the production. It's quite interesting. From the first verse and first chorus you'd think it's disjointed and the trap beat is dragging the electronic rhythm. But the pre chorus with the synth chords and especially the second chorus when the moonbahton (?) beat replaces the trap beat, it makes this kind of weird experience. Even though they're quite subtle changes, it does make a difference in how I think of it you know.

Now does the writing suck? Lol yeah I ain't defending the chorus. I think the pre chorus and bridge however stands out, espeically with the ascent of the synthwave for like fucking bars. As much as I like Allen and Serim, it's pretty obvious that the song would've benefited from a bit more sung verses.

There's something very, how do I say it, insecure about Gas Pedal. Like it doesn't know what it wants to be. I'm discounting the lyrics when I'm in this pragraph btw. Just listening to the prechorus it seems like the song is hopeless. Like I'm not trying to say that in a bad way, but it literally doesn't have hope or something. The whole song is bittersweet to me, like the rap verses are really aggressive and (NSFW) dick-stroking but the sung verses are really vulnerable, kind of emotional I guess. Insecure, as I said. It's like the shouts of "gas pedal" are meant to be covering up their sadness or something. Am I looking way too far into this? Absolutely. But if I were to rewrite these lyrics ~~which I have ahem~~ I'd probably dismiss the original lines and message and just make something else on the spot. Something more pessimistic. Because this song is not optimistic at all. The whole mesh of genres and writing makes Gas Pedal a mess, but I don't really care. In front those shouts is something more depressing.

Yeah I know Cravity are talking about how bad ass they are in the lyrics using cars/motorbikes as a motif but it still sounds like they're covering something up. As I said it's bittersweet. That's my interpretation anyways.

Thanks for reading my rant??? I have no idea what this is I just needed to get it out of my system. Gas Pedal was the last single that I started to appreciate from them so it's nice to get this out.

I just realized the song I thought was Gas Pedal wasn't actually Gas Pedal it was another song

Gas Pedal isn't great imo but it's not their worst either realistically.

Yeah the song isn't great but I think I've meaning in it to justify its existence for me at least
