there’s been some clips of me going around where i was talking about other people. i had a really bad opinion. this weekend was a learning experience for me.

i definitely projected my own thoughts and ideals onto other people. i can understand why you guys are upset and whatever i believe for myself, i said about other people in a way that was just not nice (referring to calling them messed up)

in the future, i will be more careful with how i word things.

you learn certain things when you enter this sort of industry and you’re told certain things and i kind of let that project into other people so i apologise for that. i’m sorry for how i worded it. sorry for my L take

i didn't know who this dude was until like, 15 min ago, but it's beomhan, this trainee who's a member of the pre-debut group m.o.n.t arena. he apparently said this:

trainees as well as idols shouldn’t date because it’s messed up and unfair to the fans. even though it’s not a real relationship with the fans, you have a connection and you’re betraying that and going behind their back. imagine if you spend $200 on an idol’s concert who spends that money on buying gifts for their girlfriend

i mean, honestly,,, what do you guys think?

All he's really doing is highlighting the actual problem which is that those fans think they're going to get anywhere with their idol when the chances are miniscule at best.

Like when you go to a concert of a Western band you aren't likely to be seeing many fans who think they'll end up with them while that's a concerning amount with Kpop but people still go to concerts to have a good time anyway.

The truth is idols get a boat load of stuff from fans almost all of which has to be tossed.

No just that he's highlighting the issue of fans being that delusional to the point of people being mad over idols spending the money they worked hard to get considered normal since actually thinking you'll date an idol is not healthy.

Parasocial relationships are a huge issue nowadays and mental health issues and lack on social interaction from covid has made it easier to fall into that trap which is dangerous as there was one case where a scammer faked being a celebrity and a fan sold their house for them thinking they were in desperate need of money.
