Tomato soup is something we often make here, but unfortunately, during winter time, tomatoes (imported) suck here, too. So, it’s more like a summer soup with fresh, homegrown tomatoes. Yumm.
Believe it or not, but I’ve never tried classical Mac and cheese before.
The mustard power twist is interesting, makes me curious, so I will try it for sure.
Oh, I think Olivye is the salad what we call Russian meat salad? There is a meatless version too, called Russian salad.
(I’m a lil bit confused cuz we call the latter French salad. Why do we call it French when it comes from Russia? )
I’m a big fan of mushrooms.

Oh wow, it’s probably unheard of here to not have tried Mac and cheese (unless you have allergies or whatever). But I bet there’s people who have tried only the kraft kind which is debatable if it’s Mac and cheese, given that the US version doesn’t have cheese iirc.
For Olivye I asked 2 ai for the reason and one said it was probably considered too elegant and refined to be from Russia so they called it French instead, and the other said it probably refers to the fact that that the chef who made the og version had Belgian/French roots. Could be one of those, could be both, idk. Then again, the Korean carrot I mentioned absolutely does not come from the Korean Peninsula so seems like everyone plays around with names and actual origins sometimes

I`m veagn, so...

breakfast
I alway eat overnight oats

lunch / dinner
most easy would be curry. just fry the veggs you have at home or you want, add curry pulver or paste and some plant based milk, herbs etc.
I always use soy sauce to cook btw.
you can eat with bread, rice, even noodles.
my most lazy cooking is, putting everything into the rice cooker.
add washed rice + the needed water or vegg stock.
put veggs on top + tofu if u want.
soy sauce on top.
at the end add some roated sesame oil

snack
fruit is the best snack ♥

I do have some receipts but I mostly cook without
but I can share them if u want

It’s Mac and “cheese” i think it’s some powder that resembles cheese taste a bit but doesn’t actually qualify as cheese. Think imitation crab style situation, where it’s a fake version of what it’s supposed to be. The Italian pasta sounds similar to mac and cheese so close enough But it sounds better. We just don’t have enough good cheese for 4 types added. But I also guess that mustard powder could add to that too, since they’re similar

Yeah for real come on ai. though some Russian food is definitely the epitome of someone didn’t know what to make and just tossed everything that was left in their pantry into one dish. This salad kind of feels that way too though imo, but when it was made it was very different. It was made by a cook who worked for the Tzar and it had a bunch of fancy ingredients. But it’s evolved and it thankfully tastes good now, unlike before Im not sure that’s the reason for the name difference though, I assume when it came to Hungary it had the “peasant” ingredients (like potatoes and carrots) and not the fancy and unnecessary ones (like pheasant and caviar). I also do think the ai was more saying that people in central or east europe sometimes called things French to make them seem elegant, even if they aren’t French. So a more accurate way of wording it for me ig would that they decided it was elegant enough to be called French. Slightly differently wording wise, but a bit better of a connotation

I like the rice cooker idea. I don't have one, but lately, I was thinking about to get one.

Oh yeah, imitation crab is also my fav. On the other hand, mustard powder doesn't sound that bad.
I didn't know the story of the salad, it's interesting how fancy it was before. But I'm glad it has everyday ingredients now and it tastes better for sure.
Caviar is so expensive.
