Hi there!!!
This is my thread to upload Latin covers.
This post is for introductions and niceties. The posts below are date index, artist index, then the Latin translations (along with an english interpretation) :)
If you do know me then you may know that I study Latin at uni level. To practice I thought I'd translate and interpret some passages from K-pop songs and place them here.
Unlike my english covers which are interpretations only, I am literally translating the songs,
and as I am not fluent, a lot of these will be broken and not that good. As I said though I'm using these to practice and improve.
Also unlike my english covers: Many of my translations will not be full songs and only tad bits from a song or two.
This will be a smaller storage of covers because I haven't been as motivated to do these as my other thread, but as always I'll try to be regular in uploading.
Symbols I use in writing/formatting (may or may not follow these)
'(...)' : Used for any words that may be opted-in whilst singing.
These either add an extra note/syllable to the line so they may be unnecessary to the singer, or they fill a certain note that may sound weird in Latin. Tldr: Sing these out to get the rhythm.
'(.../...)' : Used when I couldn't choose between two words so the singer has a choice to use whatever one they want :3
'-' : Two words/syllables come joined into one note, using half of the note each.
'-,' : Used to break up a word when the first syllable/note is held for a while (I'll link an example when I find one).
'[...]' : Used for adlibs and background vocals.
Anything else ('!' '?' ';' etc.) is used to look pretty on paper
I hope you enjoy these translations <3
