I believe it. That's how it is for the majority of books that have been transitioned into a cinematic film. Books are better, but it's nice to see it played out before you even if some things were manipulated.

I read all of the books. Except I only read like 3/4 of the last one. I just didn't feel like finishing it. And I really have no desire to do it now..

I did not like Kristen Stewart in the role. I felt like she didn't like it either. lol. And we know Rob hated it.

Looking back, its not exactly the cutting edge of literature or cinema. Better YA books have been written.. I mean when you are in a college English class having been assigned to read articles on why Twilight is Misogynistic and bad influence for young girls then you know its got some issues...

oh yes better ones were written tho twilight definitely had the hype back then.

The program is pretty good. Its about a society where suicide becomes epidemic and as such any teen who shows negative emotions has their memories wiped to prevent suicide.

The Raven Cycle was pretty good. HP fans who are obsessed with the idea of the Marauders would like it given the archetypal similarities in the characters and their dynamics. I won't give away anything else if you haven't read it, but I found it pretty unique for YA. It doesn't [in my opinion] follow typical tropes. Is there a misunderstood bad boy main character? Yes, but the protagonist doesn't fall in love with him. Which is pretty rare for YA. lol

The Shadowhunter Chronicles is good. It gets a bad rep because the first book of The Mortal Instruments began as a HP fanfiction and while you can see parallels, if I weren't aware of that fact when I was reading it I wouldn't have drawn that conclusion. Also, much of the characters that have developed in YA and fiction in general can be boiled down to base character archetypes. So the fact that Jace is similar to Draco seems more of following a misunderstood bad boy trope than anything... Plus there are so many spin off series' from the original series that it sort of becomes negligible after that... Honestly, at this point The Shadowhunter Chronicles has turned into a Rick Riordan situation with like 10 spin offs and 16 books in the franchise, which is not counting the various companion books and short story compilations that have been written for the books.
