It was the ONLY assigned reading for English class I loved, and it made me cry so much

It is very seldom that a book makes me actually shed tears.

Most recently, Project Hail Mary. It had me emotionally distressed over a sentient rock. I love him so much.

I don't know quite how to describe it, but there's something very powerful about an art that pulls you so much into their world and into the characters' struggles that you can't help but deeply empathize with it.

Especially since I read a lot (I've finished 33 books already this year), I come across way more books that try to shortcut that emotional engagement than ones that manage make it feel like a true natural end result of the characters' decisions, actions, and values. I'd have to wrack my mind really hard to think of one before Project Hail Mary that moved me that much.

sometimes I don’t even know a book is sad till o get to the sad part- I should probably look some books up, if they seem sad Lol.

Actually there are many, i read alot and tend to really get involved.

I was reading in a restaurant once. A couple came up to me later and said that just watching me read made them want to know what book it was.
