What are your favorite South and Southeast Asian dishes? (1 Viewer)

I like all kinds of Asian foods! If I had to pick one from each country, they'd be:

China: sweet and sour pork/chicken
Korea: japchae
Japan: soba noodles
Thailand: pad Thai

I haven't tried any sort of 'authentic' Asian dishes (POSSIBLY the bibigo steamed dumplings but am slightly unsure about that part).

I'd really love to try something though (like kimchi or beshbarmak)

My favorite Chinese dishes include char siu, kung pao chicken, fried rice, and steamed pork buns. For Japanese dishes, I love udon noodles, gyoza, both shrimp and vegetable tempura.

There’s so many Korean dishes I love it is almost impossible to pick. Whenever I get to go to Korea, my must eat dishes are:
1. Tteobokki/spicy rice cakes
2. Samgyupsal/ pork belly BBQ
3. LA Galbi/ smoky bbq style ribs
4. Galmaegisal / another type of Pork BBQ (Even though it’s called “Seagull meat” *shrug*)
5. Milmyeon / Spicy Iced noodles, (it’s similar to Naengmyeon, but Milmyeon is better)

For Japanese dishes, my fav is Takoyaki, and for Chinese food I just like stuff from the takeaway in the UK (mushroom Chow Mien etc)

Japan: Okonomiyaki, omurice, yakisoba, katsudon, gyudon, katsu curry, tempura
Korea: Korean fried chicken, jjajangmyeon, rabokki, hoteok, japchae, Samgyupsal , Bulgogi
China: Peking duck, dim sum, bbq pork, pork belly, bao zi, chow mein
Thailand: Pad Thai, Pad see ew, mango and sweet rice, stir fried glass noodles, drunken noodles
Vietnamese: Banh Cuon. Pho, Bánh mì, Bánh xèo, Bun Cha, egg roll
Philippines: Adobo, lumpia

I love any and all kinds of fried rice dishes. Same concept, different flavors from every country.
Altho my favorite is a fried rice lentil and veggies dish called vagareli kichdi. Almost like a comforting spicy porridge.
