what determines that you've stanned an artist? (3 Viewers)

I have two levels, one I call a "hard stan" the other I call a "soft stan".

soft stan: I will check out all the music the group puts out. I will also check out some of their variety content. If the group was on tour and came to my city, I would consider getting decent tickets, if it was convenient to go

hard stan: I will check out all the music the group puts out. I will check out all variety content and extra videos they release. I will buy any merchandise I can comfortably get my hands on. If the group is on tour, I will travel a significant distance to see them in concert, trying to get the best seats I can.

Of course these are my personal definitions, and do not effect what others deem as stanning.

I'm going to come off sounding like a picky listener lol but here's my criteria for stanning:

1) They must be an active group with consistent comebacks. If I find out they've disbanded or gone on hiatus or whatnot, bye, Felicia!
2) I have to vibe with the music. By "vibe with", I mean that it can't be too loud or rap-heavy. If there is rap in it, it has to be balanced out with vocals or else I won't bother looking into them further.
3) They have to be worth bragging about. I'm not going to reject a group if nobody talks about them, but they will go on my "casual listener" list rather than my stanlist until they get more hype (if ever).

If the group ticks off all three boxes, then I'll do whatever it takes to get to know them better and eventually add them to my stanlist!

For me? Liking all the members, liking their songs, watching some content and being up to date with stuff..that's it

it's all feelings, i can like all songs from a group and still not want to stan not for any specific reason

I may list my supposed criteria; but each case has been different and there are good groups that have failed to make me stan them even though I may love their discography.
