they must bring it to a neighbour and leave a note
or bring it to a store so you can pick it up later

why do people steal packages from others so much in america

Prime allows workers to work before their background check comes in. So they don't really know if the person has felonies prior to hiring. But most of the places i've lived in have been apartments for which the deliverer had to call me to be able to be let into the building and/or give it to the manager of the complex. But even then it was either UPS, FEDEX, or Postal Service that was delivering and they have much stricter hiring regulations than an amazon prime delivery person.

The problem I really have is the delivery guy not even knocking before leaving it on doorstep and my only notice being me looking at the website to see the status... Before I moved across country mail men were the predominate mode of delivery and they would knock. FEDEX would require signature sometimes. But really the only time I had an issue with a package was when a comic was in the snow instead of the mailbox, but that's not a package. lol..
