If we are to talk about Japanese groups; I'd say the whole alt-idol thing. I'm not sure why no boygroup dare to step into the non-conforming idol trend.

it feels like the jpop (and now I mean the music industry in general, not just the genre) is more known for girl groups rather than boy groups? generalising of course and I´m speaking more about the international fans, in Japan that is probably different or ... not?

I think I read around that the jpop idol scene has always been dominated by girlgroups. I'm on the impression that it was different for kpop in the past. I just want a few boygroups that could go hard and heavy. One of those almost did, but shied away.

I´m on you with that, while I´m not into hard-rock/metal that much, I do like Miyachi, Salu, but I do need more of your typical boy group Seventeen-Ateez concept. I´m sure talent would be found quickly.

Honestly, they're better at title tracks or just digital singles. I find with male groups I'm more likely to like albums as a whole, but my girl group playlist is a lot bigger than my male group one.
