marketing and promotion and the company they come from is what i think

Of those options I think company, not just from a standpoint of whether fans will seek them out because of being under a big name but also in the sense of how competent that company is. Look at BAP, they got big at the start but after the lawsuit it decreased by a lot. Luck also plays a factor no doubt. The other also do, but those stand out to me.

if a tree falls in a forest and nobody is around - does it make a sound?
if a nugu group releases a great song but no one listens to it - is the song still good?

coming from a bigger company means one thing - OPPORTUNITIES - more opportunities should one fail more eyeballs more hype
