What Does All-Rounder Mean to You? (1 Viewer)

I may be the odd one out on this
but coming from someone who jumped into kpop in the 2nd generation
I feel as though an all-rounder is someone who can rap, dance, sing, and has a good stage presence (or 3 out of the 4).
While I think it' takes a great amount of skill to be a producer and lyricist
I don't think it is something that makes an idol an all-rounder.
If they get up on stage and are unable to carry themselves then they aren't an all-rounder k-pop idol
They are a talented producer and lyricist.

I don't know if that makes sense but that's what I think of and idols I think fall into that category are:
Key (SHINee)
Dongwoo (Infinite)
Karina (aespa)
Soyeon (IDLE)
Jihyo (TWICE)
Taemin (SHINee)
Haechan (NCT)

and probably more but those were the first to pop into my head.

What about you-what do you think of when you see the term all-rounder?
And what idols come to mind?

same as you; rap, sing, and dance (and perform, but that’s more of a solidifier than a qualifier)
only exception I have is for faye wong — maybe she can’t rap or dance quite as well but whether from a singer, producer, or actress perspective she’s had an incredible run; she may be the top “idol” singer of all time for me tbh

hmmm i am kinda a 2nd gen snob thus i highly devalue rapping. If i enjoy it that is fine.

Sing, Dance, visual /demeanor / popularity, acting/ variety ie are they fun to watch. At an Above average level. these are kinda the jobs of kpop artists. 3 out of 4 gives ya a bunch of artist. to be dominate i think ya need all 4
no one really cares if they write or produce thus why so many top goups do none of that.

So ill pick 4's

I may be a little biased but Jihyo. Even though she doesn't excel at rapping, she does at pretty much everything else AND is a great leader!
She gives it her all 110% and you'll never get bored watching her performances.

I just realized he was on the list, I completely agree! I love his energy as a dancer and he’s a great rapper, but he can also sing too!
