What is something that confuses you or you hate about a language you speak? (1 Viewer)

The thing I absolutely hate about English is that letters don't always sound the same even when used with almost the same exact words.
Like Kansas and Arkansas.
The 'kansas' in Arkansas is not pronounced the same as 'Kansas' alone

And whenever there are silent letters.

For example
Pterodactyl That 'P' has no business being there.

Or when certain letters have multiple ways it can sound including sounding the exact same as another letter.
Like 'c' and 's'
The 'c' in 'necessary' had me spelling it wrong for YEEEEEARS until i started pronouncing it like neck-eh-ssary in my head whenever I had to write.

How about you guys? Any language troubles, issues, pet peeves?

irish has quite some unusual consonant combinations like nh (like mo mhála, or nimh) or bh (like sa bhearna or Abhainn)
And often the spelling can differ, depending if nh, for example, is at the beginning or center of a word.

Well... In German, I have a problem, when it comes to genders and Fälle.

In English, I often dislike how "you" is both singular and plural...

Oh also I actually love and appreciate the different cases in Russian, if I feel like saying “i dishes washed” instead of “I washed the dishes” I’m free to do so. But I hate having to use them correctly myself. No thank you

When I took German, I HATED that there were two genders PLUS neuter - it made things so confusing!
