The book series was great dont get me wrong. The movies? Not good. I liked the Hobbit Movies though

this has to be the most unpopular opinion i've EVER seen. like i genuinely never ever heard anyone praise hobbit and saying the LOTR movies are bad in the same sentence (not saying whether i agree or not because i forgot everything from hobbit other than that ed sheeran song)

What can I say, I like to keep things spicy
For me what bothered me about the LOTR movies is that they slightly strayed from the books in all the bad ways. It was close enough that I couldn't help comparing the two (and thinking about how much better the books are) but far enough that it bothered me. For the Hobbit movies the movies were very loosely based on the books. It was so far off that it was more like its own thing, so I wasn't comparing the book and movies. I don't agree that everything as necessary in the Hobbit that they added (like romance is an eww unless its me and Winter ) but I wasn't sitting and thinking wow this part isn't as good, and this character is a dick unlike in the book, and this scene didn't happen and didn't need to be added because it was so different from the book.

honestly you might be right with the book differences and i'm saying that as someone who literally has a LOTR movie poster in front of them and owns the trilogy on dvd. but thankfully i'll never experience these differences myself because i don't read
