YG and JYP had both been accepted into SM Entertainment when they tried out for the company in the early 90s? The obvious would be that none of their groups would have debuted and all the artists in those groups would have either never debuted or gone to different companies. Also what would the face of Kpop look like. Would SM be the solo mega company or would you think maybe DSP Media and DR Music would have been able to hang on. Remember that the founders of companies like Big Hit and Cube came from JYP so we also dont know how they would be affected by this. SO what do you guys think?

Obviously, there would be no other "big" companies. So, I would think the same people from JYP & YG would be in SM (unless they didn't make it) but I think the members would be in totally different groups. That would suck though.

SM would be the top company, but Kpop would've been less known internationally
A lot of fans would have never discovered Kpop, only the ones who like SM-sounds
Maybe a total nugu company would compete with SM

That would mean no Gangnam style and I think k-pop might just remain popular in some Asia/SEA country which sucks..

Exactly what I was thinking, no hoardes of I-fans for kpop.

I honestly don’t think it will change that much. Other companies will take the places YG and JYP left, and some other group/song could go viral and bring on the international fans.

The other question is what would have happened if LSM did not get burned so bad by Hyun Jin-young & hip hop acts he basically took it out of the company music dna to the point that folks left to do it somewhere else.
